Colorfy is a browser extension that recolors web pages. This page explains exactly what it does and does not send anywhere.

The short version. Everything Colorfy does is on your own computer, with one exception: if you type a description into the theme generator and click “Generate Theme”, that text and the title of the page you are on are sent to a server so a color palette can be created. The ready-made themes do not use the network at all. Nothing is sent while you simply browse.
These never leave your computer. They are held in your browser’s extension storage and are not uploaded, backed up, or synced between your devices:
Colorfy does not read the content of the pages you visit, and it does not record which pages you visit.
Colorfy makes exactly one kind of network request, and only at the moment you click Generate Theme after describing a theme in your own words. It never happens automatically, on installation, or while you browse. The four built-in themes — Dark, Night, Paper and High contrast — are part of the extension and need no connection at all.

The address of the page and the content of the page are never sent. There is no account and no sign-in, and your browser never contacts the AI provider directly.
Generating a theme from your own description is limited, so that the service cannot be run up as a bill by anyone. In this version the allowance is counted per day, resetting at midnight UTC. In version 1.2.0, which some people are still using, it was counted per calendar month instead, and those installations stay on the terms they were given.
There is also an overall daily capacity shared by everyone using the free service. If that is reached, theme generation is unavailable until the next day even if you have not used your own allowance. Choosing a ready-made theme and picking colors by hand are never limited.
The request goes to a server operated by the developer of Colorfy, running on Cloudflare Workers. From there, the text you typed and the page title are passed to OpenRouter, which routes the request to the language model that produces the palette — currently OpenAI’s GPT-4o-mini. Those companies process the request under their own terms.
Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone else.
The server does not store the text you typed or the page title. Once a palette has been generated, they are gone.
What it does keep, in order to run the free allowance and to know whether the feature is working:
Colorfy sets no cookies, includes no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind. There is no account and no sign-in.
Colorfy is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Everything held on your own device is removed when you remove the extension from your browser. You can also use “clear all changes” in the extension’s options to delete your saved styles while keeping the extension installed.
Clearing the extension’s data also discards the random identifier, so a new one is created the next time you use the theme generator, and the earlier server-side records can no longer be connected to you by anything at all. Those records contain no name, email address, or any other detail about you — only the random value, a timestamp, and whether the request succeeded. If what Colorfy sends ever changes, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change. Policies for earlier versions stay published at their own addresses, so a policy never changes underneath the version it describes.
